Oracle Alter Table Add Column
The RazorSQL alter table tool includes an Add Column option for adding columns to Oracle database tables. The add column function has options for the new column name, the new column data type, the size and scale of the new type, whether or not the new column should allow null values, and whether or not the new column has a default value associated with it.
Listed below are examples of the SQL generated by the Oracle Alter Table Add Column function:
ALTER TABLE TESTUSER.EMPLOYEE ADD NEW_COL VARCHAR2(25)
ALTER TABLE TESTUSER.EMPLOYEE
ADD NEW_COL CHAR(25) DEFAULT '3' NOT NULL
